Aysun Bora - A Poetic Introduction

 Aysun Bora

Only turned 22

Your Turkish immigrant coming through

Germany,

I moved out off and out grew

Was months old when I first flew

Tasted blood of travelling

That´s when I knew

Writing on the road

Sharing my point of view

Was my profession

It was long overdue

Need a tissue?

Be prepared before I write

Don´t lose me out of sight

I don´t warn

Before I bite

Oh no she wouldn’t…

Oh wait. I might

I had fun last night

With your mum, alright?

With my words

I fight

For the women

You burned bright

For the odd names you rejected

For underdogs you collected

Seamlessly neglected

I am a product of your industry

The people

You made us to be

I am a dragon

I have set myself free

Now you

Will listen to me

Aysun Bora

Unable to burn

Now it´s our turn

To retell the story

We are patience

We are fury

We will be the jury

Of what you have to say

You say it´s morally grey

I know it´s wrong

You have been on top too long

Goddesses don’t age

The only thing we know

Is rage

So behave

What we have created

In a cave

For a new future to be
